World Cricket – Why still so few countries play cricket?By
Even after over 3 decades of International cricket being launched, there are about only 8 countries in world which play solid cricket .
Countries like Bangladesh, Kenya, Bermuda, Netherlands, Ireland etc etc should not be considered cricket playing countries because they are poor performers. But to save face of cricket boards, they are entered into world cups and other big profile tournaments only so that the sport officials can declare that now many countries play cricket.
Seriously, you can only name 8 countries which play good quality cricket — India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, Newzealand, South Africa, England, West Indies.
Why such low number still?
Cricket is played all over the common wealth that is almost over 50 countries and you know what Cricket is a game of technicality and it requires both physical and mental strength… and believe me it is difficult to understand , that’s why not so many countries are playing ….and its a costlier game and the game heavily depends upon the climatic conditions of a country …that’s why most of the countries don’t adopt playing cricket… and Cricket is the only game where 3 types of the same game is played (Test, Odi and T20)
Each form requires different strength and skills…..
