World Cricket – Why still so few countries play cricket?

Some sports are fun to play but boring to watch. I find the slow sports such as baseball and cricket very boring. I used to play baseball though and had a lot of fun playing. So its probably that people in general find cricket boring to watch.

Do u now any other sport where there r 8 good international teams that r just as good as each other? Its anything but a low number considering not 2 many contries play it

Cricket is played all over the common wealth that is almsot over 50 countries and you know what Cricket is a game of technicality and it requires both physical and mental strength… and belive me it is diificult to understand ,, thats why not so many countries are playing ….and its a costlier game and the game heavily depends upon the climatic conditions of a country …thats why most of the countried dint adopt playing cricket… and Cricket is the only game where 3 types of the same game os played (Test, Odi and T20)

Each form requires different strength and skills…..

In brief the reason why there are only 10 countries admitted to Test (considered the ultimate) level is because of the very elitest and conservative attitude that has governed the game.For example cricket world has never attempted to, or wanted to be an Olympic sport and now its the only major sport (2nd largest in the world ) to not be an Olympic sport. It has been decades but still the sport has not gained popularity. It is seriously only played by 8 or 10 countries. The Europeans have not taken it very seriously and nor the country which invented the game (U.K.) they are passionate about Football. I saw that there are so many here commenting that it is an expensive game then why did not the US and the Europeans take it seriously, I have never seen a Chineese or Koreans playing the sport? It is a total timewaste. T-20 has gained popularity because the game has got shortened. Everything that is now in cricket from the pomp pomp girls to the IPL etc. has been copied from the format of Football.

Football requires a lot of strength, stamina, skill and intelligence to execute the game. Cricket is just a game of mere luck, there is no physical contact when playing cricket. Wordsworth correctly defines Cricket as “Cricket is a game played by 11 fools, watched by 11000 others and the biggest fool is the Umpire”.
