Archive for one day international
Just got back from this amazing cricket game. We went to AMI Stadium in Christchurch, New Zealand to see the One Day International Cricket Game with New Zealand playing India.
What a One Day Cricket spectacle!
Today Sachin Tendulkar most certainly showed us why he is known as “The Little Master”.
India took command of the game from the beginning and when Tendulkar and Yvraj Singh set in, the Black Caps really must have been wondering what they could do to stop the rising tally.
Yuvraj made it to 87 runs. This was the first time he had edged his total ahead of Tendulkar. And at that point he found himself caught out by McGlashan from a ball bowled by Elliott.
When Tendulkar reached 156 he strained his stomach muscles and required medical assistance. Despite the obvious pain he was in, Tendulkars next big hit was another six to extra cover.
India continued and ended up with a score of 392/4 at the end of their innings.
New Zealand started off well with Jessie Ryder getting off the mark with a four on the fourth ball to show he meant business. Ryder and Brendon McCullum built up an impressive score of 166 before McCullum was run out to end this great partnership.
The batting continued less impressively and it wasn’t until the ninth wicket partnership of Kyle Mills and Tim Southee that another respectable total was added.
New Zealand finished there innings with a total of 334 all out and although there performance did not challenge India’s total, the game was a great game to watch.
Sixes were a regular event in this amazing game!
The highlight of the game was the impressive performance by Sachin Tendulkar hitting a wonderful innings of 163 before retiring hurt with the score at 338/3. It was no surprise when he was awarded the Man of the Match award!
