I’m interested in purchasing either a Stuart Surridge, Salix or Smasher cricket bat?  Has anyone purchased any one of these cricket bats and how would you rate these bats?

Salix are very good bats on occasions, Surridge not so good. Smasher also ok but nothing amazing. Salix is the way forward

For the rest of you these are UK handmade cusom made cricket bat companies

How does the “cardon handle” affect cricket bats?

In gray niccols bats etc. I have heard rumours of handles snapping off. Thanks

The carbon handle is supposed to help give greater control and power. As for the handles snapping this is true. Gray Nic say that about 1 in 10 are being affected. I have one (1000 series) and two other players from my team also have them. Both of them have had the handles in their bat snap but so far so good with mineI. f it does happen GN will replace the handle for you if you return it to the place of purchase.

However you will be without your cricket bat for up to 6 weeks at the moment as it is cricket season and therefore it will take longer for them to get the time to replace the handle (they are repalced with old style ones not another carbon handle).

What do you think the best cricket bat out is? (e.g. predator max, fusion, implala redback etc) please say why and how much thx

Anything Grey Nicholls is good, I personally have the Grey Nicholls Jet, hasn’t let me down yet . But I guess it depends on your height and whether you like using heavy or light bats, but Grey Nicholls has a good range all shapes and sizes of cricket bats
