A lot of people get confused when it comes to pre knocked in bats, when a bat is pre knocked in this does not mean that someone from slazenger has sat with a mallet knocking the bat in, it simply means it has been put under another pressing machine which puts a lot of pressure on the face of the blade. Because of this you should make sure you knock it in at least a couple of hours more than play against an old ball, if you get deep seam marks go back and keep knocking in, if the seam marks aren't deep then its ready to go out there and score you some runs!
References :
Nice BAT!Knock it in by hand not machine.Knock in the edges mainly because those are the weakest parts.
References :
if its pre-knocked in you have to oil it and knock it in yourself as well, you dont want your bat to snap when i got my kookaburra last year i went to a specialist (Fordham sports best in London) and he gave me a lecture and he knocked it in took him like a week but once i played with it i could feel a big difference felt much smoother and felt better hitting the ball, so if its an expensive bat id recommend you to get a specialist to knock it in if not you can oil it and knock it in yourself (:
